Legal
Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
Packet Nomad (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit this website or contact us, how we use it and the rights you have under UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR.
1. Information we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, email address and phone number.
- Business information, such as your company name and job title.
- Anything else you choose to share with us through our contact form, by email, by phone or when booking a call.
- Technical data about your visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and provide our services (contract or legitimate interests).
- To understand how our website is used and improve it (legitimate interests).
- To keep our website and systems secure (legitimate interests).
- To send relevant updates, only where you have agreed to receive them (consent).
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations (legal obligation).
3. Cookies and website analytics
We use Matomo, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves at track.packetnomad.net, to understand how visitors use this website. Analytics data stays on our own infrastructure and is never shared with advertisers or other third parties.
When you first visit, we ask how you’d like us to use cookies:
- Essential only: no analytics cookies are set. Matomo still records basic, cookie-free page visits so we can see which pages are useful, but it cannot recognise you on a later visit.
- Accept all: Matomo also sets first-party cookies (named
_pk_idand_pk_ses, plusmtm_cookie_consentto remember your consent) so we can tell new and returning visitors apart. These cookies are only ever read by our own analytics.
Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask on every page. We don’t use advertising or social media tracking cookies.
4. Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted providers to run our business, including:
- Cloudflare, which hosts and protects this website and processes technical data to do so.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that contact form submissions come from a person rather than a bot.
- Resend, which delivers the emails sent when you use our contact form.
- Calendly, if you book a call with us. The booking window is loaded from Calendly only when you open it.
These providers act on our behalf under appropriate data protection terms. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we make sure suitable safeguards are in place. We never sell or rent your personal data.
5. How long we keep it
Messages sent through our contact form are stored securely so that none are lost if an email fails to send, and are deleted automatically after 12 months. To limit abuse we also keep a one-way hash of the sender’s IP address, never the address itself.
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires, then delete it securely.
6. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, alteration or loss. Security is our business, and we apply the same standards to our own systems that we recommend to our clients.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- ask for your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office atico.org.uk.
8. Contact us
If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected] or write to Packet Nomad, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.
